when we returned to the old house...

by bofa xesjum

we found that it had been converted into a condominium
most of the units of which were yoga studios

because ignorance is a frail base for virtue
a frail base for virtue indeed
i must have walked the streets until after midnight

the streets i so loved and feared
what did i come here for?
he was looking at me with bright beady eyes

they were horribly afraid of him
but i did not sink under my torments
i felt the same horrible anticipation

the poor are generous with their things
knowledge of nature is only half the task
he kept looking at me with bright beady eyes

i was down on the program for one number
you know i’m absurdly in love
knowledge of nature will only take you so far

here you are at last!
i am down for only one number
what did i come here for?

“i blame no one… i take full responsibility”

ignorance is a frail base for virtue
i walked the streets until it began to rain

i was hopelessly in love
he kept his bright beady eyes on me the whole time
the temptation was too strong

they were all afraid of him
their ignorance did not protect them
and the temptation was too strong
