the witch's vengeance, part 1

a traitor to good feeling and honor
as weak as a starved rat
such is female curiosity and affectation

his body is hidden in some corner
looked upon as a lost and abandoned creature
the singing of the wind among the leaves

may you renounce me from that moment
she surveyed him with high displeasure
his body was hidden in some corner

with a melancholy interest
is it insolence thus to surrender myself
darkening with prophetic interest

recognized in spite of my disguise
darkening with a melancholy gloom
recognized in spite of my disguise

as weak as a starved rat
may you renounce me from that moment
while i crouch in a dark corner

damned for all eternity
such is female curiosity and affectation
cowering before the flickering fire

a light glimmered in the window as she approached
the wind sang among the scattering leaves
a traitor to all decent feeling

cowering in the corner under the window
she surveyed him with contempt

"so ended the once proud line of the caskers"
