the witch's vengeance, part 2

look upon me as a lost and abandoned creature
like a leaf blown in the wind
a spark glimmered in the fireplace

all his insolence was gone
a traitor to good feeling and honour
with a desperate melancholy

truly a lost and abandoned creature
bereft of all high born dignity
the very picture of melancholy

such is female curiosity and vengefulness
the loss of good feeling and honor
a light glimmered outside the window

with a melancholy glow
she despised him utterly
as weak as a starved rat

the dark prophecies had come to pass
such is the wrath of woman
like the wind in the trees

may you renounce me from that moment
the rat ran from the corner
insolently surrendering itself

i scorn you utterly
in your pathetic disguise

"thus ends a once proud race"

the prophecies have come to pass
recognized in spite of your disguise
a light glimmered in the window behind her

the witch's vengeance, part 1

a traitor to good feeling and honor
as weak as a starved rat
such is female curiosity and affectation

his body is hidden in some corner
looked upon as a lost and abandoned creature
the singing of the wind among the leaves

may you renounce me from that moment
she surveyed him with high displeasure
his body was hidden in some corner

with a melancholy interest
is it insolence thus to surrender myself
darkening with prophetic interest

recognized in spite of my disguise
darkening with a melancholy gloom
recognized in spite of my disguise

as weak as a starved rat
may you renounce me from that moment
while i crouch in a dark corner

damned for all eternity
such is female curiosity and affectation
cowering before the flickering fire

a light glimmered in the window as she approached
the wind sang among the scattering leaves
a traitor to all decent feeling

cowering in the corner under the window
she surveyed him with contempt

"so ended the once proud line of the caskers"

sources: castle of otranto; mysteries of udolpho; a sicilian romance; the old english baron; the monk; emmeline, or the orphan of the castle; melmoth the wanderer; frankenstein; the vampyre, by john polidori; lady audley's secret; run to earth, by mary e braddon; the moonstone; no name.

up there, part 2

"you think they care anything about you?"

they want you
and that's that

are you saying
up there
for all you know

it's cool up there
where they smoke their cigars
they don't care

they keep you in the dark
on purpose
and caviar too

so what
what is caviar anyway?
they don't want you to think

"what does caviar even look like?"

that shows what you know
i'm just saying

drinking champagne
now champagne i can relate to
who cares?

nobody knows
but they want you
who knows why

i'm just saying
they are still up there
think about it

up there, part 1

what they tell you
is what they tell you
drinking champagne

they want you
watching you
and what's that

watching you
i'm just saying
i'm just saying

so what
that's what
watching you all night

are you saying
are you saying
is what they tell you

smoking cigars
that's what
to think

smoking big cigars
while they watch you
and drinking champagne

and that's the truth
so help me
they are up there

drinking champagne and wine
i'm just saying
they want you

epiphany

the boy
always be
in his buffalo bill jacket

he reached for
nothing would ever change
i have no friends

i have no friends
the girl
in her red cap

he suddenly realized

"how can you remember all this?"

in his buffalo bill jacket

the hippie boy
he suddenly realized
nobody likes me

laughing
nothing would ever change
laughing

or at least smiling
in his brown buffalo bill jacket
in her red cap

he suddenly realized
nobody likes me
alone

the can of lima beans
the boy
alone

a romance of the wilderness

they tugged and tore at each other
with countenances pale even to ghastliness
they tugged and tore at each other

the artifices of his depraved countrymen
exceedingly decrepit and infirm
you red-eyed devil

robbing her fair visage of her single charm
with the artifices of his depraved countrymen
robbing her fair visage of her single charm

"fair as is your outward form, you are foul - infinitely foul"

united with a frank and modest spirit
a vision of serious duties and little company

i sat awhile in perfect silence
with the stern joy that a warrior should feel
you red-eyed devil

as he stands over his fallen foe
his countenance pale in his triumph
pale as the stars fading behind him

on the desolate battlefield
i say it's outrageous
her fair visage hovered before him

i sat awhile in perfect silence
with the stern joy that a warrior should feel
marked out by her immaculate footsteps

not a lively nor a sociable place
they tugged and tore at each others hair
i sat in perfect silence

trudy martinelli, spacewoman, part 2

"this is what you always wanted, isn't it?"

receding rings of saturn
glowing fitfully

in the depths
of the flattened sun
the spasmodic flow

of the flat sun
jumping jupiter!
glowing fitfully

let us turn our gaze now outward
to the welcoming stars
beyond the winking galaxies

of smiling suns
and sneering saturns
and jumping jupiters

and venal venuses
flowing gently
exploding endlessly

with suave gravity
and undoubted star power
o my love

with suave gravity
nevermore
no more

beyond
mars
jupiter
